How do I get it installed on my computer and/or Mac?
Installing the Beautiful Days Countdown Widget is quick 'n' easy. Just click "Install now" under the picture on the left (the one at a funny angle) and follow the instructions. If you need more help, there's a bit of a guide down the page.
What happens when the timer runs out?
Most of the time I spent coding the Beautiful Days Countdown Widget was trying to get updates to work properly. Now that I've (hopefully) got updates sorted, you'll be able to get the latest version without even visiting this website. That means whenever the time is running low, I can simply issue an update and within two mouse clicks you're good to go!
Installing and Updating
If you don't already have Adobe AIR installed on your PC, this is what you'll see when you click "Install Now". Just click Yes to carry on, as you need Adobe AIR to run the Beautiful Days Countdown Widget.
The next screen you'll see (or first if you already have Adobe AIR installed) is a security warning. Click install and ignore the bits about unknown publisher cause I can't afford $100 per year for a certificate signed by some massive company. If the big red cross puts you off and you decide not to trust me, that's your choice, but I ain't buyin nobody's trust.
You're almost there! If you already have Adobe AIR installed then you won't see the first option. Wanna keep your desktop clean? Just untick the "Add shortcut" box and click Continue when you're ready.
I wouldn't bother reading any of this, just click "I Agree". You'll only ever see this once anyway. In fact, you might not see it at all...
That's it! Now sit back and relax for a few seconds while the installer does the rest of the work for you.
Once the Beautiful Days Countdown Widget has installed, it will automatically load (unless you told it not to). Don't worry, it won't start every time you switch your computer on - I haven't worked out how to do that yet =D
If you click "About this Widget" in the bottom-right corner, you'll see the current version and an option to check for updates.
There's a good chance you might not get time to see this screen. If the Beautiful Days Countdown Widget finds an update (because you told it to look for it) then it will automatically take care of everything. Once it's done it'll restart... The whole process takes a few seconds.
